Los hidrocarburos son compuestos formados por hidrógeno y carbono. Todos los combustibles fósiles - como el carbón, petróleo y gas - son los hidrocarburos, hasta que se queman cuando se mezclan con el oxígeno, creando (entre otros gases) de CO2.
