Space jump
A space jump is a skydive from the edge of space high in the sky. Unlike ordinary skydiving, a space jump takes off at a much higher altitude far above the Earth's stratosphere. To accomplish such a feat, the skydiver must wear a pressure suit similar to those used by astronauts to protect the person from oxygen shortage and friction heat caused by the supersonic descent. A specially manufactured balloon is used to lift the skydiver high in the sky at some 24 miles (31 km) above the Earth's surface.
A space jump freefall can last as long as four minutes or more and commands a top speed of 833 mph (1,342.8 kph), breaking the sound barrier which is about 690 mph.
